EUROSCOPE is a large urban demonstrator project of Telematics Application Programme, aiming to deploy and validate transport telematics services in real life environments involving large user groups. The project is co-financed by the European Commission (DG XIII).
The partner cities are:

  • Cologne,
  • Hampshire/Southampton,
  • Piraeus,
  • Rotterdam,
  • Strasbourg,
  • Genoa,
  • Hamburg, and the follower cities of
  • Cork and
  • Brandenburg

EUROSCOPE builds upon the results and infrastructure of the DRIVE II project SCOPE, and national initiatives and programmes.

The consortium includes local and regional authorities, public transport operators, port authorities,
industrial providers, broadcasters, universities and consultancies, that bring considerable expertise and experience from previous R&D programmes. The emphasis of the project is on the provision of user friendly services to the public, and to authorities and operators, which allow the traveller to make informed choices and contribute to an improved network efficiency, a greater usage of public transport and an improved management of freight operations.
