ERATOSTHENES has had substantial involvement in EU RTDD (Research, Technological Development and Demonstration) programmes in the areas of transport telematics (DG XIII), transport (DG VII) and energy related transport targeted projects (DG XVII).

ERATOSTHENES has been involved in projects SCOPE, KITE, ENTRANCE and is currently involved in projects EUROSCOPE, CODE, ENTERPRICE, INFOPOLIS, COSMOS, INCOME and TROPIC, dealing with the implementation of telematics for traffic management and traffic and travel information, in the urban and interurban context.

Within these projects, ERATOSTHENES has contributed jointly with other actors, to the assessment of the user requirements, the definition and the design of the applications, the implementation of the systems, and the evaluation of the impacts on users and on traffic.

ERATOSTHENES has also participated in the project management on the local and EU level, and is currently involved in the concertation process, through its participation in the horizontal support project CODE.

The expertise and the know-how gained through the involvement in RTD&D projects, has helped boost the image of the firm, and has proven of tremendous value for local projects, where the extra experience from the EU programmes provided the added value.
